Someone’s re-made the intro to Grand Theft Auto…. in Lego. Brilliant.

Here’s a direct link to the LEGO movie.

Snowboarding in the sun

posted by Duncan at 6:03 pm on July 12th, 2006

I’ve just come back from another great 4 days riding the glacier in Tignes. This trip is becoming a yearly event between me and a few friends and this years ruled as much as the last.

Tignes 2006

We had the best weather, and the snow although not awesome, was as good as expected considering it was 22deg at the top. About 10.00am you get for me the absolute best conditions as the snow is hard enough to play and soft enough not to hurt yourself (oops, tempting fate). We even hired Downhill Bikes this year and gave them a blast from the top ( we had helmets but the armour hadn’t arrived ) which made it a exciting. These bikes ( Big Hits ) have 8 inches of front/rear travel and just sucked up the bumps.

I’ve stuck all the photos up on Flickr as has Martyn. Go view them and make yoursekf feel very jealous.

To you, to me

This made me laugh when I saw it on someones myspace comment page. I guess you need to know who the chuckle brothers are but hey.

Paul and Barry

Oh and don’t get me started on myspace. I know it’s very popular but my god it must be up for worst designed, most uncompatible and least navigable site ever. With what seems like 50% of the screen real estate dedicated to adverts, someone is becoming very rich. Oh and people tell me it works fine in IE?! I rest my case.

RIP Ronnie Barker 1929-2005

posted by Duncan at 1:50 pm on October 4th, 2005

So sad to hear of his passing away. We were fed on a diet of Ronnie Barker and his ilk when I was growing up and it brought me much happiness. I’ve tried to use his jokes on many occasions, not quite to the reception I’m sure he got when he told them.

Ronnie Barker

He will be sorely missed.

Nintendo new controller

posted by Duncan at 2:34 pm on September 16th, 2005

So I saw this story (and pictures) today of the new controllers for Nintendo’s up and coming ‘Revolution’ console. They really are the trail-blazers when it comes to this stuff. I only imagine how cool this thing is to use. Here’s a paragraph from the story linked to above.

Nintendo breaks with more than 20 years of video game history by abandoning the traditional controller held with two hands and introducing an all-new freehand-style unit held with one hand.

Can you imagine sony or Microsoft making such a bold move? I can’t wait to give it a try.

My favourite April fool

Well, after a day of lots of April fools, which was your favourite? I think mine was Tokyo Zoo Adds Giant Penguin.

Others that made me chuckle were: Yahoo and Google join forces(I thought it should have been called ‘Yahoogle’, NASA Builds Worlds Largest Paper Airplane, U.N. Decides to Shut Down Internet Permanently and Microsoft to develop standards based browser.

Rainbow fun

posted by Duncan at 10:31 am on February 25th, 2005

For those of you who don’t know, “Rainbow” was a credible childrens TV show from the 70′s and 80′s. This clip was actually broadcast and watched by millions.

I used to watch rainbow as a child and loved it. It’s great to know that I could re-watch it now and have as much fun for completely different reasons.

post it notes art

posted by Duncan at 10:22 pm on February 24th, 2005

Now here’s a new use for post-its. These guys have created some scaled up pixel art, done in a Miyamato stylee. Aparently it took 3800 post-it&reg notes to complete. I have always loved the pixel art style and seeing it in that grand scale made me jump back through all my pixels art links again.
