Will I stay or will I go

posted by Duncan at 12:34 pm on December 8th, 2004

Yesterday, was the big speech by Mark Thompson about the where the BBC is going and how they are going to save money. I am currently on a fixed term contract with the BBC that runs out in March 2005 so I am not sure if this all effects me just yet so we shall see. There were a lot of long faces though.

I have to say, probably not the greatest timing though, what with the Christmas holidays approaching. There’s nothing like a bit of bad news to put the dampeners on everyone.

Riding Giants

I watched Riding Giants today, the follow-up from Stacy Peralta. Riding Giants is a documentary film in the same vein as Dogtown and Z-Boys, this time exploring the lives and passions of big-wave surfers from around the globe, though centering primarily on three epochs of big-wave surfing as seen through the eyes of their chief proponents. I really enjoyed the film even though I kind of new I would from just knowing it was being made. Well worth a viewing.

UPDATE: Due to a re-design and no BBC archiving *tut tut* you can see it in Web Archive

Hurrah. I have just finished my first large public facing project since joining the BBC. The DAB digital radio station 6music has been ongoing for many months now and I’ll glad to say we finally went live with it the other night.

Featuring a new clean look, I am really happy with the build and I hope you like it too. Stage II of the build will be coming soon.
